The project of Cala del Forte permits a connection from the “Marina San Giuseppe” to the Upper City by a vertical lift. The route will be divided in two parts. The project includes an inclined lift for public use, that from the quay it will climb to a car park (under “Via Verdi”). The lift will allow an intermediate stop at the adjacent square; then by a second vertical lift, the people can reach the Old Town. Next to the achievement of the lift, the project also plans a brick road. So the people can reach the “Carlo Alberto” promenade ( also called Funtanin) from the “Marina San Giuseppe”. The presence of the driveway to access the car park, will allow to place better the lift and to utilize the natural slope of the ground, to built the brick road.
